For Future Cruisers

If you’re looking for a fun and educational way for the kids to pass the time this summer, the instructors at the BVI Yacht Club have got you covered with youth sailing camps at Nanny Cay. Kids ages 6 and up are welcome, but the club believes in safety first, so all participants need to know how to swim.

Camps typically begin in July, with each week dedicated to a different skill level. They offer courses from absolute beginner, which includes other fun watersports, through to the “race camp” for those training for regional and international competitive youth sailing. Sailors can come for a full week of on-the-water training or just drop in for a day.

Be sure to send your young sailor prepared with lunch, hat, sunscreen, towel, a change of clothes and shoes they don’t mind getting wet. The yacht club provides lifejackets. Call Tamsin at (284) 494-3286 for details or to sign up, and don’t forget that BVI Yacht Club members get a discount on camp fees.
