The BVI Welcome Tourist Guide

The British Virgin Islands Welcome Tourist Guide is published bi-monthly in collaboration with the B.V.I. Tourist Board, and is distributed to all visitors to the British Virgin Islands. This colourful magazine-format publication contains comprehensive information on accommodations, sailing, transportation, places to go, shopping and dining, as well as lively features on island events, people, places and history. 178,000 Welcomes are distributed annually through Customs and Immigration at all points of entry; through charter boat operators; hotels and at other tourist facilities throughout the British Virgin Islands. There is also off-island distribution through the B.V.I. Tourist Board offices in the U.S. and U.K., through paid overseas subscribers, and at travel shows attended by the Tourist Board.

Because of the high quality of the publication, it is taken home by most visitors and used as a reference for future trips, as well as passed on to others interested in travelling here. The rate sheet contains additional information on rates, deadline dates and mechanical and electronic requirements.

Annual contract advertisers in the Welcome receive a 10% discount on annual extended, display and home page advertising on BVI Welcome Online, the internet version of the Welcome.

The The Cruise Ship Visitor Guide is published annually in October and is specifically targeted for the day visitor to the islands. A "pared down" version of the BVI WelcomeTourist Guide, it contains articles about the history and the culture of the islands as well as useful guides. The "Road Town Shopping Guide" provides a walking tour and a list of popular shops with an easy to use map. There is also a section on "Exploring the Islands," highlighting many historical sights and places of interest.

For those looking for an island tour, a charter sail to another island, or a chance to snorkel and soak up the sun on a remote beach, the "What to Do in a Day" guide gives some suggestions on a day's adventure. A handy ferry schedule, a list of restaurants coded by the type of food served and a centerfold map of all the British Virgin Islands make this 16 page guide an indispensable tool for those on a brief visit to the B.V.I.

The Cruise Ship Visitor Guide is distributed primarily at the Road Town Cruise Ship dock as well as with taxi drivers, shops, and other tourist attractions throughout the islands. Annual contract advertisers in the Welcome receive a 10% discount on display ads.

The BVI Restaurant Guide

The BVI Restaurant and Food Guide is a comprehensive guide to the islands' eating establishments. A color publication in a convenient 5x7 format, it features restaurants for the BVI's three main islands: Tortola, Virgin Gorda and Anegada, and also contains a section for the outer islands. In a menu-style format, restaurants list a sampling of their dishes along with a handy "quick guide" to hours, price range and contact information. The Restaurant Guide contains a centerfold map of the B.V.I., plus a map of Road Town with coded numbers to easily locate area restaurants.

The Restaurant Guide is published annually in November and is distributed alongside the Welcome at the airport, ferry terminals, hotels, guesthouses and other tourist attractions.

This easy to use guide is designed for the visiting diner wanting to explore the many varieties of cuisine offered or residents desiring restaurant information at their finger tips.
